How we handle your details
This page covers the details you give us when you register your interest on this website. The UniQuarter platform will have its own privacy policy before it opens.
Who is responsible
UniQuarter Limited (NZBN 9429053882608), of Christchurch, New Zealand, is responsible for your details under the Privacy Act 2020.
What we collect
- Your first name and email address.
- The option you chose under "I am", and your institution if you gave one.
- When you confirmed your interest, and which version of the wording under the form you agreed to.
The form collects nothing else. This website does not run any analytics or advertising tracking.
Why we collect it
We use your details to keep you updated as we progress towards launching the platform, and to tell you when it opens. Knowing whether you are a student, a landlord, from an institution or an investor lets us send you the updates that matter to you. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
We do not sell your details, and we do not give them to anyone else for their own marketing.
Who holds your details
- Resend, our email provider, stores your details and sends our emails. Resend is a United States company and stores data in the United States. It also keeps records of the emails it sends, such as whether each one was delivered.
- Cloudflare, also a United States company, runs the small service that receives the form, and the check that keeps automated submissions out. That check looks at information from your browser to tell people from automated programs. Your details pass through Cloudflare but are not stored there.
- Microsoft, also a United States company, runs our business email. When you confirm, we get a short email with your name, email address and the options you chose, so a copy sits in our mailbox.
These companies act on our behalf and handle your details only to provide their service to us. While your details are in the United States, United States law applies to them, and it may not protect them in the same way as New Zealand law.
How long we keep them
We keep your details until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Unsubscribing stops our emails straight away. If you also want your details removed, email us and we will delete them.
If you fill in the form but never confirm, you are not added to the list. The confirmation link stops working after 24 hours, and the only trace is Resend's record that the confirmation email was sent.
If we move the list to another provider, we will update this page first.
Seeing, correcting or deleting your details
You can ask to see the details we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete them. Email hello@uniquarter.co.nz, and we will reply within 20 working days.
If you are not happy with how we have handled your details, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
